Children’s Local History Challenge Rules

Our Children’s Local History Challenge is subject to a few rules:

  • Videos can be submitted on the Chatteris Past, Present & Future website between Saturday 1st August 2020 and Wednesday 16th September 2020 (inclusive).
  • Videos must be submitted by a parent or guardian on the child’s behalf if the child is under the age of 13 at the time of submission. Children older than 13 may submit their own video, but should have permission from their parent or guardian before doing so.
  • Videos should be on the topic of an historical building/place, person or event that is special to Chatteris.
  • Videos should be no longer than two minutes in duration.
  • You may submit more than one video.
  • Videos must be presented or narrated by someone who is a “child”, defined here as someone under the age of 18 on Saturday 1st August 2020.
  • Assistance may be given by friends and family members, regardless of age (e.g, a parent/guardian or older sibling can help with research, filming and editing – as long as the video is presented and/or narrated by a child).
  • Videos should contain no nudity, swearing or otherwise offensive content (in the opinion of those running the challenge).
  • You retain copyright to your video(s), however by submitting a video you agree to grant Chatteris Past, Present & Future a licence to edit and distribute the video in perpetuity, including (but not limited to) on the Chatteris Past, Present & Future website, Facebook page and YouTube channel.
  • Chatteris Past, Present & Future reserves the right to edit videos for length, or for inclusion in other promotional material for Chatteris Past, Present & Future (the civic society).
  • Chatteris Past, Present & Future is not liable for any incident that may occur during the creation of your video. Please ensure that you only film from publicly accessible places or places where you have permission to film, and ensure that it is safe to do so.
  • Information provided on the Chatteris Past, Present & Future website is for information only and does not constitute a recommendation.
