A short way along Ash Grove, on the left, is a white building which was once the Society of Friends (Quakers) Meeting House. Friends had met in Chatteris from 1703 until the 1920s.
A small graveyard was sited beyond the brick wall on the site of the present road. The building was used as a place for feeding the first of the evacuees to the town in World War II.
The building is now privately owned. An application for demolition was granted in the early part of 2020.

Taking a digital tour of Chatteris?
If you’re taking a Digital Tour of Chatteris, you should double-back on yourself and head back along the High Street towards the mini-roundabout. Before you get there, you’ll see Grove House – our next stop – on the right hand side.
